Silent Auction
Purpose:
The N.W. Women of Hope Conference has a heart for reaching into
our community. We selected two nonprofit organizations to
assist in supporting.
(1)
ALIVE:
an organization sponsored by YWCA which helps protect women and
their children who are in harm’s way.
“The ALIVE Shelter is a confidentially located home in the
Kitsap County area. Operated by the YWCA, the ALIVE Shelter
staff have been serving abused women and their children since
1978. While at the home, they help each woman explore the best
ways to begin a safe life for her and her family. They strive to
provide an environment that nurtures empowerment, self-esteem,
and self-worth. They are committed to providing a multi-cultural
and diverse program responding to the physical, emotional, and
spiritual needs of all battered women in our community.”
(2) OneChurch-One
Family
The mission of
OneChurch-One Family
is to demonstrate the love of God in our community by bringing
homeless families into nurturing relationships with support
teams from Kitsap county’s churches, resulting in the families
ability to obtain long term housing, increasing their growth and
stability.
Proceeds from
the Silent Auction will be donated to these 2 organizations.
Silent Auction Procedures
Auction Hours:
Friday night: 6 pm - 6:55 pm; 9 pm -
9:30 pm
Saturday: 7:45 am - 8:55 am; 10:45 am
- 12:55 pm;
1:45 am - 3:10 pm silent auction CLOSED
After the auction is closed, our team of
bankers will gather and alphabetize the highest bidders and
divide them up alphabetically among the bankers. Each banker
will have the names of the highest bidders written in big print
on poster board and hung above them. This way the bidders will
know what line to stand in. After paying for their item(s), the
banker will hand a retriever (standing behind them in the
auction room) a paper with the # of their item(s). The
retriever will retrieve the correct auction item(s) and hand it
to the bidder. Only retrievers will be allowed into the auction
room.
The names of the highest bidders will
also be given to ? so the names can be displayed on the overhead
in the sanctuary before the end of the conference. This will
help with "crowd control" in the hallway and foyer, and give the
highest bidders a reminder to pay for and pick up their items.
All procurement FORMS need to be
turned in to me now.
